  • To provide  a 24 hr facility for individuals wanting to refrain from drink.
  • Support tailored to meet individual needs.

Who can apply for the service?

Anyone can apply to the service as it is recognised that...alcoholism is no respecter of gender, age, ethnic background profession or disability, therefore London Road will consistently have a varied mix of people from al walks of life. They will have one thing in common; a desire to recover from the abuse and effects of alcohol.

 

How to access the service

Access to the service can be sought:

  • via self-referral
  • local authority
  • local housing team
  • the probation service
  • addiction units
  • local health authority.

 

What is the accommodation like?

London Road is a furnished 9 bed unit for men and women aged 18 to 65.

Each unit is a fully furnished flat let with its own cooking and washing up facilities. There is shared use of bathrooms, toilets showers, laundry and communal lounge.

The project is staffed around the clock with staff sleeping in to provide overnight and emergency cover. There is also an on call system for additional backup.

 

How long will the support last?

London Road is considered to be a short term service which can last up to two years, the average length of stay is between9-12 months.

 

Support

A support plan will be developed within the first week, between the key worker and resident. The support will include advice and assistance with planned move-on and resettlement.

We will work with you by providing a named key worker to help you to develop a support plan to identify your  goals and how to work towards them. These will be reviewed regularly to ensure that the right support is being offered.

  • Assistance to find permanent accommodation appropriate to your needs
  • Assistance with claiming the right benefits and filling in forms.
  • Help with bills, dealing with debt and maximising your money.
  • Advice and support when you move into your own home.
  • Support to find education, training employment and voluntary work.
  • Advice and information on health.
  • General life skills.
