Mental health

Anyone can suffer from mental health problems. In fact, one in four people in the UK are diagnosed with mental ill health at some point in their life (World Health Organisation, 2001).

Some of the people we work with experience problems temporarily and require low-level support to help them get back on their feet. Others have a more severe and enduring diagnosis that requires longer term and more intensive support.

You can find out more about mental health services below or by contacting your regional office.

Who we support

We currently support over 1,000 people with varying diagnosis of mental illness across the UK.

How we support

Our mental health staff work with people with a wide range of support needs and includes people with high complex and forensic or dual diagnosis. We offer support in a variety of ways, such as:

  • floating support
  • supported housing
  • core and cluster supported housing aimed at developing and enabling independent living for people requiring longer term intervention
  • housing-based schemes with waking night staff
  • 24-hour residential care home for people with long-term and enduring mental illness.

The people we support are encouraged to get involved in and supported in a range of social enterprise initiatives, including employment and training and community investment programmes.

In partnership

Mental health is one of our specialist areas and we pride ourselves on a history of strong partnerships.

We have over 30 years’ experience working closely with statutory and voluntary sectors to deliver individually tailored services.
