“Now I’ve got the space and independence I can go back to college.”
Heidi

How did you come to be here?

I was at my mums, but it was overcrowded especially with Lacey (Heidi's daughter). She’s two years old. It was not very good at all – mum and I argued all the time and there was just no space. We couldn’t really stay. I went to the council and they referred me here.

What do you think of the support?

I’ve been here four weeks, but it seems good. I think I’ve got the biggest flat, because I’ve got Lacey. Already I’ve more of an independent life here.

What’s for the future?

I want to become a midwife, so I want to go back to college to finish my NVQ. I was doing that before Lacey was born. Now I’ve got the space and independence I can go back to college. The staff here have helped with finding a playgroup for Lacey and are helping me back to college.
